On the menu - Delectable Baked Salmon

" One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dinned well "

One of my very favorite dishes is baked salmon, actually I love most fish dishes and seafood overall. A great plus cooking salmon is that it's easy to prepare and very beneficial to health, a real good fit-food.
Well it's not new knowledge that fish is healthy food and salmon one of the kings but if women understood the great impact fat fish has on the skin, to have and maintain a smooth and youthful appearance they would eat fish much more often. And of course the same benefits goes for men as well!

More good news is that by adding salmon to your diet you get iron, zinc, niacin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12, in addition to a whole host of other nutrients you need for good health. Salmon is also a complete source of protein and 3 ounce (90 gram) salmon provide about 22 gram protein. And there is a big dose of those magical Omega-3 coming your way!

Enough talk!  Let's eat ;)

 Delectable Baked Salmon Recipe

Ingredients
4 salmon cutlets 6oz (175 g)
4 lemon slices
1/8 cup olive oil (30 ml )
3 tbsp lemon juice
Garlic gloves
Salt and freshly milled pepper

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 450° F  ( 230 C ) and line a baking dish with foil.
In a small bowl, combine olive oil with the fresh lemon juice. Mix well. It smells amazing!
Lay the cutlets onto your lined baking dish and brush all sides of your salmon with the mixture of olive oil and lemon, season with salt and pepper.
Add the whole garlic gloves unpeeled and toss with salt, pepper and olive oil, they develop a wonderful soft and sweet flavor.
Top with fresh lemon slices and bake at 450°F for 12-15 minutes or until just cooked through. Don’t over-cook or your fish will be dry.

Delectable and easy dish, perfectly well combined with as here a warm Mediterranean style  potato salad for the more hungry ones and a romaine salad.
Voila ;)

Notes about Salmon!
Wild : Available fresh varieties of wild salmon you will found May through October and frozen throughout the year. Wild salmon are typically Pacific coast varieties such as coho (silver), sockeye (red), Chinook (king), pink, and chum.

Farmed : Atlantic salmon is usually farmed and are grown in pens near ocean shores. Salmon farming has increased availability substantially and allows for salmon at a cheaper price. Consider though that it is the wild salmon which has the most health benefits in fatty acids.
