Empty your plate

" Achieving your goals can change your life "



Yes please do empty your plate! Why is it a crime to empty your plate? In many advises I saw, when I was searching for good ways to tackle my eating issues, the advises was the same. Leave food on your plate when you are full. It is a good advise when you don't have eating problems -no need for advise either then, but when your relation to food is disturbed its not the best advise to have in my experience. 

Why is it a bad idea?  When you are raised, as most of us I believe are, to finish what is on our plate, the habit can be difficult to deal with and get rid of, specially when you are disconnected from the feelings of hunger but also from the hunger in the mind. What happens then is that you will subconsciously think about that piece of food you left and that is what you want to avoid, occupy your thoughts with food! And if you think little as I you will dislike to waste food and money. Food is to eat and not to throw in garbage unless its junk food or spoiled food! 

How then!  What you need is to correct your portion distortion. I wrote how I managed to loose weight on my post, Decisions-led to success . It is a great way to go back to normal portion sizes, helpful tips for portion control. And you know what if you eat big meals and you change to normal sized portions you will loose weight by doing just that. But for a good health it is wise and preferable to choose a healthy diet. Use a 9 inch or 22cm plate for normal sized portions. Eat in a sensible way. And go ahead and EMPTY YOUR NORMAL SIZE PLATE!

Did you know that you can eat healthy and by overweight? It is the truth and has to do with portion distortion and the fact that you consume to many calories. In other words your calorie intake is larger than your calorie burning with an obvious result, overweight! I talk about weight in my post  " Weight be gone ".
